Abstract

1,218,776. Pulp screening machine. IMPROVED MACHINERY Inc. 9 Dec., 1968 [2 Jan., 1968], No. 58331/68. Heading BID. A screening machine for paper pulp comprises a housing divided by a perforate screen 34 along one side of which rejects flows from inlets 22 to outlet 26 and along whose other side a flow is maintained in the opposite direction by introducing diluent water by inlet 76 which leaves the housing by outlet 30 together with the accepts fraction. A rotor bearing blades 52 causes vibrations in the mixture on the downstream side of the screen. Screen 34 is cylindrical, but Figs. 4, 5 (not shown) illustrate a flat screen (82) with a reciprocating plate (96) on its downstream side.
