[Also in Divisions A4 and A5] A fixed or portable urinal 1, which may be attached to the user, is connected to flushing apparatus 9-15. A switch 17 on the urinal operates a motor 12 driving a suction pump 11 which serves either to suck water from a tank 10 into the urinal via pipe 7, or to draw urine and, if present, water from the urinal through pipe 5, one-way valve 15 and purifier 13 into the reservoir 9, depending on the position of a valve 14, which is opened or closed by a further switch 18, on the urinal.
