1446436 Discharging ship's closets P B DOLPHIN 23 Nov 1973 [24 Nov 1972] 54428/72 Heading E1C A ship's w.c. includes a pump 50 for directing flush water to a venturi device 34, 35 in the pan's outlet to thereby discharge the pan. A valve 80 directs the flow of water from the pump. The pan discharges through a valve 111 into a holding tank. To empty the holding tank, valve 111 is closed and valve 80 operated to pump water to compress air in reservoir 59, the water entraining further air through a venturi pump 62 and inlet 63. The compressed air discharges the holding tank's contents. The pump's inlet and closet pan's outlet include anti-siphon loops with either one-way valves or bleed holes for admitting air.
