Abstract

1,217,542. Rotary pocket-wheel feeders. C. W. VOGT. 10 Jan., 1968, No. 1406/68. Heading B8A. Substantially the entire wall surface of each pocket of a pocket wheel feeder for discharging particulate material from a hopper vehicle is formed of gas permeable material and means are provided for providing suction through the gas permeable material when the pockets are in communication with the hopper and for providing gas under pressure to the gas permeable material when the pockets are adjacent the feeder outlet. The pocket wheel 17 comprises gas permeable members 20 removably secured to a tubular shaft 18 formed with apertures 32. The shaft 18 is rotatable on a stator 24 formed with recesses 26, 28, connected to vacuum and pressure sources, and with passages 50, 51, 52 leading to atmosphere.
