Abstract

1,217,165. Sliding clasp fasteners. E.L.B.E. (EXETER) Ltd. 11 April, 19681[22 May, 1967], No. 23615/67. Heading E2S. The tapes of a fastener are provided with abutment means i.e. flanges or beading 11, so that the edges of the material 12 to which the fastener is attached are accurately located in relation to the coupling elements. In the embodiment shown the beading 11 also forms a protective channel for the slider 3. If the tape is to 'be sandwiched between two pieces of material the edge of said pieces can be abutted against flanges formed by extrusion or dip moulding. In other examples, only one of the pieces of material is abutted against a beading which may be sewn or welded on to the tape or formed by weaving a raised line into the tape.
