Abstract

1,216,921. Valves. M. SORDI. 23 April, 1968 [9 June, 1967], No. 19051/68. Heading F2V. A pneumatically operated valve, comprises a tubular body 1, a ported partition 2 dividing the body into inlet and outlet chambers 3 and 4 respectively, a tubular branch line 9 which has formed integrally therewith and disposed therein a further ported partition 8, and a closure member 6 which is adapted to be moved between positions in which either one of ports 5 and 7 is closed, movement of the closure member being controlled by a piston and cylinder unit 12 acting on the closure member stem 11. The valve can be used as a three-way valve, in which case port 3a constitutes the inlet and ports 4a and 9a the outlets, or as a simple two-way valve in which case a screw-threaded cap 10 is attached to the branch line 9 so closing outlet 9a.
