Abstract

1,216,613. Thermoadhesive photo-copy materials. A. MESSERLI A.G. March 6, 1969 [March 7, 1968], No.11983/69. Heading G2C. A thermoadhesive photo-copy material comprises a support sheet (e.g. paper) carrying on one side a light-sensitive layer which contains one or more inorganic salts which on reaction with divalent iron become coloured, and at least one salt of trivalent iron which on exposure is converted to divalent iron, and on the other side a thermoadhesive layer (e.g. polyethylene). The salt of trivalent iron may be ferric ammonium oxalate, or ferric ammonium citrate. The inorganic salt may be potassuim ferricyanide. The light-sensitive layer may contain at least one organic acid, which forms soluble complex salts with iron (e.g. citric acid or oxalic acid) and may contain at least one oxidizing agent (e.g. ammonium bichromate or potassuim chromate) in a quantity of up to 10% of the weight of the salt of trivalent iron. The material of the present invention is used for copying patterns and cutting diagrams in the clothing industry and has the advantage that no development process is necessary.
