Abstract

A watercraft propulsion unit comprises a tiltable body 4 carrying a propeller, an inboard motor 12 connected via cardan shaft 9, dog clutch 10 and angle drive 7 to the propeller, elastic material being positioned between elements of the dog clutch which are disengaged on tilting. One element of the dog clutch is carried by a body 2 secured on the stern of the craft, and one by the body 4 which is tiltable about a pivot 3 on body 2. A steering transmission includes shaft 12, cardan shaft 13, clutch 14 and an angle drive.
