Abstract
1,215,912. Pulse modulation circuits; transistor gate and store circuits. TELEFONBAU UND NORMALZEIT G.m.b.H. 4 Feb., 1969 [6 March, 1968], No. 5871/69. Headings H3T and H4L. In a demodulator for amplitude-modulated pulses, a gating circuit comprising a diode in series with the emitter-collector path of a transistor is connected between the signal input and a storage capacitor and means connected to the base of the transistor render it conductive at predetermined time intervals. As shown, time division multiplex signals are applied at SS and negative gating pulses are applied at T during the channel time slot. Each gating pulse blocks transistor T2 so that transistor T1 conducts and the storage capacitor CS is connected to input SS via transistor T1 and diode D. If the capacitor is charged to a potential higher than the signal voltage the capacitor will discharge via T1 and D until the two potentials are equal. Similarly, if the capacitor is charged to a lower potential than the signal voltage it will receive a charge until the two potentials are equalized. The potential across the capacitor CS is supplied via a high input impedance amplifier T3, T4 to a low-pass filter (not shown). A field effect transistor or thermionic valve may replace amplifier T3, T4.
