Abstract
1,158,141. Transistor pulse discriminating circuits. AUTOMATIC INFORMATION DATA SERVICE Ltd. 22 July, 1966 [26 April, 1965], No. 17421/65. Heading H3T. A pulse width discriminating circuit, particularly for separating line and field pulses in television systems, comprises a compound pair of transistors VT 1 , VT 2 feeding an emittercoupled pair of transistors VT 3 , VT 4 having a resistance capacitance time constant such that shorter duration (line) pulses can be derived from the collector of VT 3 and longer duration (field) pulses from the collector of VT 4 . The signals at 11 passed by capacitor C 1 are D.C. restored by the base current of VT 1 . Capacitor C 2 is charged negatively via VT 3 during the non-pulse periods and discharged via R 4 during the pulse periods, the time constant being such that C 2 is only discharged sufficiently to render VT 4 conductive during the longer duration field pulses.
