Abstract

1,215,747. Bearings. SIEMENS A.G. 20 Sept., 1968 [22 Sept., 1967], No. 44955/68. Heading F2A. A vertical shaft is supported at its lower end by a bearing member 1 which is located on a locating surface of a support member, the bearing member being urged against the locating surface. The vertical shaft, for example the rotor of an electricity meter rests on a ballbearing 12 carried by the bearing member 1. The bearing member carries spring arms 41, 42, 51 and 52 which engage in recesses in the supporting member 3. The spring arms 41 and 42 urge the bearing member against the locating surface 2 (Fig. 2, not shown) which may be wedge-shaped. The spring arms 51 and 52 serve to adjust the vertical position of the shaft, and further adjustment means, e.g. a screw 8 which bears against an abutment 9 may be provided. The arms may be made of spring steel or the bearing member may be formed by injection-moulding from an acetal resin.
