A foundation for a row of houses having a collective central heating system comprises a plurality of concrete beams 19-21, 27-29, 31-33 which are mounted on piles 1, 9 and disposed transverse to the longitudinal direction of the row, each transverse beam being constituted by two aligned portions 27-29 spaced apart by a plate 45 to which heating and other service conduits are suspended by a bracket 51, 52. Branch conduits 57, 59 having tapings 71, 73 are secured to the main conduits as shown. The foundation has a concrete floor 43 and end beams 75, 77.
