Abstract

1,214,959. Chucks. REISHAUER A.G. 18 July, 1969 [18 July, 1968], No. 36319/69. Heading B3B. A chuck comprises a pair of jaws 2, 3 movable in opposite directions by a keyplate 11 having keys 9, 10 engaging keyways in the jaws, the keyplate 11 being moved by a screw spindle 12. Alternatively the keyplate 11 may be provided with keyways for corresponding keys on the jaws 2, 3. The jaws 2, 3 overlap at their inner ends to prevent ingress of dirt. Gripping elements are attached to the jaws 2, 3 and are located by means of grooves. The spindle 12 may be turned by a manual wrench, or by an electric, pneumatic or hydraulic motor.
