Abstract
1,214,547. Spray producers. PUREX CORP Ltd. 6 Sept., 1968, No. 42649/68. Heading B2F. [Also in Division A4] A tank washer comprises a housing 10, a rotating spray head 68, means to drive said spray head including a cylindrical rotor chamber 14 within said housing, a rotor 46 mounted within said chamber and drivingly connected to the spray head, said rotor having a plurality of circularly disposed teeth 50 to define a plurality of rotor spaces with the wall of said chamber, means including a passage 36 and valve 38 disposed therein for controlling introduction of motive fluid to the chamber, said teeth each being provided with a first face and a second face disposed at an angle to the first face, circularly distributed motive fluid inlet ports 34 at one end of the rotor chamber and circularly distributed motive fluid outlet openings 92 at the opposite end of the chamber, said inlet ports being fewer in number than said rotor teeth such that fluid introduced through said inlet ports induces rotation of said rotor. The inlet ports and outlet openings may be registered to provide simultaneous fluid inlet and outlet. The inlets may be fed from annular channel 24 to provide pressure equalisation, Alternative motive fluid supply means may be provided by line 96 controlled by valve 98. (For Figure see next column)
