Abstract

1,213,875. Mounting frames. J. L. KANTOROWICZ. 10 Sept., 1968 [28 Sept., 1967; 16 July, 1968], No. 43034/68. Heading E1B. [Also in Division A4] In a tray like frame in which carpet tiles are inserted the depth of the side walls is greater than the thickness of the base and each side wall is provided with a device for the detachable attachment of another frame and the frame has means to retain the carpet in position. The frame may be square, rectangular, triangular, parallelogram or hexagonal. The inside walls of the side walls may slope upwardly toward the centre of the base plate. Fig. 2 illustrates one embodiment wherein spigots 15 and sockets 20 are the devices. Other fastening devices include spring clips, T section bars, U section members or bolts and nuts cooperating with grooves or recesses in the inner side walls and trays which cooperate with these grooves. A slot 23 may be provided in the side wall to enable rigid sheets to be inserted in the frame. The frame may be. made of plastics (e.g. polystyrene, polypropylene, nylon or polythene which may be reinforced with glass fibres) or of wood, metal rubber or glass.
