Abstract

1,213,615. Aerials. ALBISWERK ZURICH A.-G. 14 Jan., 1969 [27 June, 1968], No. 2061/69. Heading H4A. A linear aerial array comprises a plurality of inclined resonant slots 12, Fig. 2, in a narrow side 4 of a rectangular waveguide 1, each of which is coupled to a separate horn 13 formed by a comb-shaped structure 6 and sheet members 10, 11. The structure 6 consists of two supports 7, 8 which lie on the broad sides 3, 2 of the waveguide 1 and are fixed by screws 15 to a U-shaped mount 14, and walls 9 which form the sides of the horns 13. The members 10, 11 lie on the mount 14, sealing strips 17 being interposed, on the supports 7, 8, and on the walls 9. A polytetrafluoroethylene foil 16 is stretched over the horns 13 and the members 10, 11 and is secured, with the said members, by means of strips 18. The waveguide 1 is fed at one end and a matching load is provided at the other end. The array may be associated with a cylindrical reflector (21), Fig. 1 (not shown).
