Abstract
1,213,606. Moulding magnets. MAGNETFABRIK BONN G.m.b.H. 10 March, 1969 [19 March, 1968], No. 12545/69. Heading B5A. [Also in Division H1] A permanent magnet is moulded by feeding magnetic powder from a hopper 9 into a mould cavity 5, producing a magnetic field in the cavity by an electromagnet 6 energized with D.C. and compressing the powder during such energization by a punch 8. The electromagnet is de-energized during lateral movement of the hopper towards the cavity filling position, and an electromagnet 12 at the front of the hopper is supplied with A.C. during such movement to demagnetize that area surrounding the cavity to allow free powder flow. The cavity is formed between a die 2, core 3, and a lower punch 4 which is raised to discharge the moulded magnet which is then moved laterally by the front of the hopper. The powder may include a binding agent.
