Abstract

1,213,334. Electro-photographic apparatus. MITA INDUSTRIAL CO. Ltd. Sept. 17, 1968 [Sept. 20, 1967], No.44042/68. Heading G2H. Electro-photographic copying apparatus has a sliding table 6 for carrying an original to be copied, the table closing switches 5a, 5b, 5c in succession during forward movement of the table, and a cartridge 1 carrying copy paper, the cartridge when inserted leaving one of the switches 4 closed depending on the size of paper contained in the cartridge, the switches being arranged in circuit so that reversal of the direction of movement of the table occurs after a length of stroke in accordance with the time required for exposing a particular size of copy paper. A slot is provided in the cartridge the position of which depends upon the size of copy paper contained in the cartridge and determines which switch remains closed. A projection 7 on the table closes the switches 5a-5c. Each switch of the set of switches 4 is connected in series with the corresponding switch in the set of switches 5, and the closure of both switches corresponding to a particular size of copy paper actuates a relay to reverse the direction of movement of the table.
