Abstract

1,213,043. Container vessels. P. MEEUSEN. 26 Jan., 1968 [30 Jan., 1967], No. 4274/68. Heading B7A. [Also in Division B8] A container cargo vessel has three longitudinal bulkheads 1a, 1b, 1c forming four holds 2a, 2b, 2c, 2d, each having an intermediate loading stage 3a, 3b, 3c, 3d in which is installed a lift 4 provided with intermediate endless conveyers 5 on which containers 6 are loaded to be subsequently carried by endless hold conveyers 7 into the hold. In the course of this operation the intermediate conveyers 5 are coupled with the hold conveyers 7 so that at each lift-loading, the containers 6 move up one container length. Fig. 9 shows in cross-section a part of a container 6 clamped in position for sea-going by guide rails 27 connected with levers 28, hingedly and elastically connected to pillars 11.
