Abstract

1,212,514. Tuyeres. E. PEEL. 1 April, 1968 [13 July, 1967], No. 32315/67. Heading F4B. A cast copper tuyere subdivided by an annular partition 8 into a nose section 5 and a rear portion 6 is provided with independent water circulation means for the two portions. The rear portion 6 has a water inlet (not shown) and an outlet 17, whilst the nose section 5 has a water inlet pipe 11 and a water outlet pipe 14 which discharges into rear portion 6 and is provided with a non-return valve 15. In a modification pipe 14 extends rearwardly from portion 6 through a separate discharge outlet. The tuyere may be made from a single or from two interfitting castings 1, 2 connected by bolts 3.
