Abstract

1,212,475. Gearing for conveying rotary motion. MASCHINENFABRIK HEINZ WELLER. 3 March, 1969 [1 March, 1968], No. 11317/69. Heading F2Q. The ring rail 4 of a twisting machine is operated by oscillating sprockets 8, 9 driven by the output shaft 3 of a reversing gear 2 through a worm gear 2a, 3a, the amplitude of movement being adjustable to control the rail travel by a gear arrangement 14 on shaft 3 and which operates cam discs 29a, 29b on radial arms 28a, 28b, the cams actuating the control member 2b of reverse gear 2. In the direction of rotation a<SP>1</SP> of shaft 3, Fig. 2, one-way clutches 18, 19 incorporated in pinions 15, 16 are respectively locked and overridden, so that gear 14 and cams 29a, 29b are rotated bodily with shaft 3. In the reverse direction of drive, Fig. 3 (not shown), the operation of clutches 18, 19 is reversed so that shaft 3 transmits a geared-up drive to pinions 24, 25 through pinions 23, 21, 22, thereby causing rotation of cams 29a, 29b about their spindles 27a, 27b as the latter revolve with shaft 3. Hence by fitting cam discs of different shape, the rotational position of shaft 3 at which operation of reversing control 2b occurs may be adjusted to vary the amplitudes of successive oscillations of shaft 3.
