Abstract

1,211,914. A.C. generators with D.C. excitations. ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. 20 June, 1969 [3 July, 1968], No. 31682/68. Heading H2A. In order to handle and share adequately very large excitation currents, a D.C. field winding 10 of an A.C. generator rotor comprises a main portion 11 to each end of which is connected a like plurality of like axuiliary portions 12 ... 15 each connected to a separate associated slip ring 16 . . . 19. The pluralities may be other than the two shown, and the auxiliary portions may comprise 1 to 2% of the total winding 10.
