Abstract

1,211,551. Textile lubricants. COURTAULDS Ltd. 16 Jan., 1968 [17 Jan., 1967], No. 2372/67. Heading C5F. [Also in Division D1] Textile lubricants comprise a non-toxic aqueous emulsion of a mineral oil which oil has a viscosity of not less than 600 Redwood second at 70‹ F. Emulsifying agents specified are the C 8 + fatty acid esters of polyethylene glycols having a mol. wt. of 300-600. The emulsion may optionally contain a fatty acid ester ofpentaerythritol eg g the dioleate, glyceryl mono-oleate, polyethylene glycol mon-oleate wherein the glycol has a lower mol. wt. than the emulsifier, and condensation products of ethylene oxide and C 8+ aliphatic alcohols.
