Abstract

Synthetic esters, lubricants stable to oxidn. at high temps., e.g. in aero-engines, comprises a reaction product of pentaerythritol with aliphatic, monobasic C3-9 acids and C6-12 aliphatic dicarboxylic acids, with molar ratios pentaerythritol : dicarboxylic acid 6:1 - 0.5:1 and pentaerythritol : monobasic acid 4:1-:1:. Esters have minimum viscosity at 37.8 degrees C of 25 centistokes and at 99 degrees C of 5-5.5 centistokes.
