[Also in Division H2] A system comprising co-axial tubular components 3, 4, i.e. electric cables or fluid transport pipe systems comprises one or more spacers 10, each spacer including a plurality of layers of metal foil or metallized insulant foil separated from each other by thermally insulating intermediate layers, e.g. of glass-fibre. The layers may be wound helically with edges abutting or overlapping or the layers may be applied longitudinally with edges abutting or overlapping. Spaces may be left in the insulating layers. The foils may be of a plastics material metallized with copper or of copper or other metals. The tubular members may be of corrugated metal, e.g. corrugated copper, aluminium or steel.
