Abdominal belts. - A belt, specially intended for the use of pregnant women, is formed of front and rear elastic portions a, f, connected by buttons or other known devices. The front portion is of semi-oval shape, and is provided along its lower edge with lines of stitching, bands or gores c running at right-angles or obliquely to the edge and extending to about one-third the height of the band. This front part has a binding e of non- elastic material, and end attaching devices e'. It may be formed of several elastic bands arranged one above the other. The rear part may be a simple elastic band, or it may be in two parts adjust ably connected by lacing or like means h, while each part may be formed, as shown, of three bands f<1>, f<2>, f<3>, provided with stiffeners g of whalebone &c. This band also has end attaching devices. Suspender-attaching means may be provided on the lower border of each part of the belt. In use, the upper edge of the front part a can expand as required, while the lower part is more or less rigid so as to form an abdominal support.
