Abstract

1,210,585. Propelling air-cushion vehicles; paddle wheels. NICHIEI YOSHIDA K.K. 4 July, 1968 [20 Sept., 1967], No. 32058/68. Headings B7K and B7V. An amphibious sports or pleasure craft has a driver's seat 16 on an upper air-tight covering 10 placed over a framework. A lower peripheral airtight covering 12 is inflatable into an airfilled channel having a central bottom opening 14 and a blower 18 mounted at the front of the framework and driven by engine 20 directs an airstream towards the bottom opening. Rotor 26 at the rear end of the framework is driven by engine 24 and has a wheel 36 and two paddles 38, 38<SP>1</SP>. The craft can be driven over ground or water and the embodiment described has its centre of gravity astern of its geometric centre.
