[Also in Division A5] The subject matter of this Specification is substantially the same as that described in the parent Specification 1,210,522 but the claims are concerned with a surgical stapling instrument having a cartridge with a knife blade 46 having a cutting edge extending into a knife groove 17 formed in the anvil between the rows of depressions 2, the knife blade being offset laterally to one side of groove 17 and lying against a wall of the groove.
