Abstract

1,210,448. Delivering signatures. A. R. STOBB. 27 May, 1968 [16 Nov., 1967], No. 25170/68. Heading B8R. Signatures 10 in an overlapping stream with their folded edges 16 trailing, are transferred from endless conveyer 11 to endless conveyer 22 by way of a stop member 74 which arrests the signatures and directs them on to conveyer 22 with their folded edges 16 leading. The signatures are stripped from conveyer 22 and stacked into jogger 26. A belt 47 carries the stream of signatures into box 26 until they abut floor 48. The signatures are guided on to conveyer 22 by a guide 76, and brushes 77 on pulley 21 are held against the conveyer by a drum 36. Brushes or bristles 86 on pulley 41 serve to brush sheet edges 84 to the left, as shown, to clear the way for further signatures to be stacked.
