1,210,301. Pre-sensitized printing plates. KALLE A.G. Jan.23, 1968 [Jan. 24, 1967], No.3431/68. Headings G2C and G2M. [Also in Division C7] A photo-sensitive material used to produce printing plates comprises a support which is laminated to a self-supporting layer of copper which has been produced by electrolytic deposition on a polished drum-electrode and a lightsensitive layer; the outer surface of the electrolytically deposited copper layer being laminated to the support. A layer of chromium or nickel may be electrolytically deposited on the copper before or after lamination to the support by adhesive. The support may be aluminium, zinc, iron, steel or plastics such as tri-axially stretched polyester. The light sensitive layer may be an azide admixed with gelatine.
