Abstract

1304835 Gravure printing plates B K T DISPLAYS Ltd 2 April 1970 [3 Jan 1969] 450/69 Heading G2M Gravure printing plates are formed from a photo-hardenable, synthetic resin layer by (1) exposing one face of the layer to harden the layer in areas corresponding to cell walls, leaving the areas between the walls unhardened, (2) imagewise exposing the other face of the layer, and (3) removing the unhardened resin from the layer. The resin layer may be supported on a transparent base (e.g. copolyamide), or a base may be formed in situ by overall exposure of the other layer after step (3). The resin layer may be polyester or polyamide containing unsaturated monomers and photo-initiators.
