Abstract
1,210,036. Semi-conductor devices. ITT INDUSTRIES, Inc. 29 May, 1969 [6 June, 1968], No. 27167/69. Heading H1K. [Also in Division H3] A varactor diode having two connection leads 7, 8, to one of its electrodes is connected as a voltage variable capacitor in an oscillatory circuit, one 7 of these two leads being used to provide an output voltage connection whilst the other 8 of these two leads is used in combination with the lead 1 to the other electrode of the diode to form the conventional varactor diode leads. The diode is formed as a wafer 4, the two connection leads 7, 8, connected to the one electrode passing to two separate metal tapes 2, 3, and the other electrode is connected to a metal tape 1 on which the wafer is mounted. The whole device may be encapsulated by a housing or by a mass of insulating material 6.
