[Also in Division F4] In a room in which a flow of clean air from ceiling to floor or vice versa is provided, a steel floor component comprises a rectangular apertured plate 20 having a marginal frame 22 supported on a grid 11 and a damper unit including 'baffles 26 fixed at their ends to plates 27 and connected to the frame 22, and baffles 38 fixed at their ends to angle irons 39 and suspended from baffles 26 by a screw device 18 which permits vertical adjustment of the vanes 38 relative to vanes 26 and is accessible through a central aperture of plate 20. The angle irons 39 slide between the plates 27 and at least one baffle 38 is provided with retractable pins 40 sliding in guide slots in plates 27. The baffles 26 and plates 27 are supported by units 30 welded to frame 22, the units permitting slight lateral movement of the baffles 26 and consequently the device 18. A sheet of filter material may 'be positioned between the frame 22 and baffles 26. Pedestal tubes or like floor elevating members may be Connected to channels 11 by clamps 13.
