Abstract

1,209,293. Tyre studs. KENNAMETAL Inc. 14 Jan., 1969 [31 May, 1968], No. 2059/69. Heading B7C. A tyre stud comprises a body 10 retained in the tyre carcase by a flange 14, and a pin 18 having a domed or conical outer end whose engagement with the road surface produces little turning moment on the stud. The pin, which may be of cemented tungsten carbide, may be prevented from rotating within the body by projections 54.
