Abstract
1,208,246. Trimmings. HAZEL PEARSON HANDICRAFTS Inc. 13 March, 1969, [25 March, 1968], No. 13194/69. Heading B6G. A weaving template receptacle for weaving articles such as artificial flowers using yarn or similar material comprises, as shown in Fig. 2 an inverted cup-shaped body 10 including a working board 11 with a continuous peripheral side wall 12 depending therefrom, the working board having formed therein a plurality of openings 40, a removable cover 20 underlying body 10 and forming therewith a receptacle, the cover being manually attachable to and detachable from the body side wall, and a plurality of pegs 50 housable in the receptacle, each peg including a lower shank portion frictionally receivable in one of the working board openings. In the preferred embodiment, the body 10 is further provided with a tubular hub 30 projecting downwardly from the working board into contact with the cover, the hub having a cylindrical bore 32 therethrough which is concentric with the annular side wall 12 of the body. The cover may be provided with a hole in alignment with the bore of the tubular hub. Each of the openings in the working board communicates with the upper end of a tapered bore formed in a sleeve 42 integral with the body 10. As shown in Fig. 4 an artificial flower is produced by placing a peg in each of the openings in the working board, temporarily attaching an end 61 of a length of yarn to the body of the device by adhesive tape, stretching the yarn diametrically across the body and looping it around the opposite peg, and continuing the weaving with an angular step corresponding to the space between two adjacent pegs during each crossing of the body diameter with the yarn. The centre portions of the yarn are then retained in assembled relationship by, e.g. sewing.
