Abstract

1,208,166. Mechanical garages. G. BEAU. 11 Jan., 1968, No. 1598/68. Heading B8E. A mechanical garage or store, Fig. 1, has parking spaces 18A, 18B, attached to the walls of a subterranean shaft which comprise comblike grids, and an elevator platform 8 which is similarly constructed and is driven up and down and rotated on a screw 2 by a driven nut 4. Cars to be parked are lifted from a hinged or sliding ground-level grid 25 by the elevator 8. Fig. 5 shows in plan view a second embodiment in which the parking decks 30, 30A are movable on circumferential rails in the shaft to align them with the elevator which moves up and down only on a central screw. In a third embodiment, Fig. 7, the elevator 80 moves up and down the shaft wall and the parking decks 55A, 55B are rotatably mounted on a central shaft.
