Abstract

1,207,677. Dispensing liquids by gaseous pressure. PIGOT & SMITH Ltd. May 17, 1968 [May 31, 1967; Sept.21, 1967], Nos.25065/67 and 42948/67. Heading F1R. A dispenser for liquid or paste comprises a replaceable container 10 with a piston 21 movable by gas pressure from a replaceable gas or liquefied gas container 26 mounted on container 10 by a casing 13. The contents 18 of container 10 may be discharged through the valve and nozzle assembly shown, or through a hypodermic needle. A discharge valve 28 on container 26 is controlled by relative axial movement between container 10 and casing 13, a screw-threaded connection 23 or a twoposition bayonet connection, Figs.2 and 3 (not shown), being provided between container 10 and casing 13. A disc 31 transmits the actuating force to valve-actuating stem 33 and carries a sealing ring 35 co-operating with a rib 14 on container 10. Ribs 24 locate container 26 in casing 13. In Fig.2 (not shown), actuating disc 31 is attached to the base of container 10 by spin-welding, Figs.4 to 11 (not shown). Container 10 may be of transparent plastics with graduations, piston 21 being black to facilitate viewing of contents 18.
