Abstract

1,207,033. Shovelling machines. ENVIROTECH CORP. 25 July, 1968 [1 Sept., 1967], No. 35532/68. Heading E1F. In a shovelling machine in which a shovel 36 is moved from a gathering position to a discharge position on the rocker arms 32 by which it is supported being caused to roll along trackways 50 on a support frame, the rocker arms are arranged to be supported for pivotal movement about a fixed centre of curvature located at the outer end portion of each rail member during initial upward movement of the bucket from the gathering position. Each fixed centre of curvature is created by forming the outer end portion 64 of each rail so as to have a configuration 84 of a circular arc preferably extending over substantially 180‹. When such end portions of the rails engage in complementary recesses in the rocker arms when the scoop is in a gathering position and when initially moving upwards then the rocker arms are spaced from the upper surfaces 54 of the trackways.
