Abstract

1407614 Road sweeping machine HOLMS INDUSTRI AB 1 Sept 1972 [6 Sept 1971] 40562/72 Heading E1G [Also in Division B8] A road sweeping machine having a bin 36 pivotal by a servo-motor 53 about a horizontal axis 44 between a lower and an upper, discharge position, includes a discharge chute 62 also pivotal about axis 44 and having means to couple it with the bin during upward pivotal movement of the bin so that in the discharge position, the chute forms a continuation of the bin's side wall 78. The coupling means comprises a lip 80 on the bin's wall 78 which contacts an edge 74 of the chute. The chute has abutments 72 co-operable with the machine's frame so to limit the chute's downward pivotal movement so that, in the lower position of the bin, the chute closes the top of the bin. The bin may be wider than the chute, side members 84 directing the refuse into the chute. The machine's rear wheels 14 are mounted on bell cranks pivotal by servo-motors 24 to raise or lower them relative to the machine.
