[Also in Division F4] Gases from a refuse incinerator are passed tangentially into a dust separator 5 having an insert 41 with louvred walls, Fig. 12. An exhaust fan 6 withdraws gases from within the insert 41, and dust falling within and outside the insert 41 is collected at the bottom for return to the furnace. The wall louvres are directed so that the direction of gas flow must change by 180‹ as the gases enter the insert.
