Abstract

Hot exhaust gas stream. e.g. from cupola furnace is cooled, pref. by blending with air, then split into two streams. One is fed to a multicyclone unit, and the other fed to a centrifugal separator and then to a filter unit. The first stream flow rate is maintained constant and variations in total exhaust gas flow are taken up by the second stream.
