Abstract

1,205,874. Grading machine. T. & F. ENG. (HEDNESFORD) Ltd. 4 July, 1969 [9 April, 1968], No. 16926/68. Heading B2H. A grading machine comprises a conveyor 20 for discharging material to be graded on to a screen 46, and at least two conveyors 62, 76 respectively positioned to receive material passing through the screen and material rejected by the screen, and driven by hydraulic motors. A finer screen 48 is provided, together with another conveyor 60 to receive material passing through both screens. A feed hopper 26 is provided with a reciprocating plate 28 driven by an eccentric 30 from the hydraulic motor 32 operating the conveyor 20. The screen housing 42 may be vibrated by an eccentric shaft mounted in the 'machine framework (44A) (Fig. 4, not shown) and driven by a hydraulic motor (56). All the hydraulic motors are supplied with fluid from a reservoir 38 driven by a pump 34 powered by an internal combustion engine 36. The conveyer belts run on angled idlers 22, which give them a trough-like profile. The conveyors 60, 62, 76 may be hingedly mounted so that they can be swung upwards by means of winches 86.
