1,204,912. Producing adiponitrile by electrolytic hydrodimerization. ASAHI KASEI KOGYO K.K. 14 June, 1967 [14 June, 1966], No. 27447/67. Heading C2C. [Also in Division C7] Adiponitrile is produced by the electrolytic hydrodimerization of acrylonitrile by employing as catholyte an aqueous solution containing at least 5% by weight of acrylonitrile, a supporting electrolytic salt, and from 11 p.p.m. to 10% by weight of an anion polymerization inhibitor. The anion polymerization inhibitor is defined in the same way as in Specification 1,204,911 and the examples of such inhibitor, electrolyte salt, cell, cathode, anode, and conditions of electrolysis are also as described in that Specification.
