Abstract
1,204,875. Shuttleless loom. SOMET S.p.A. 26 Sept., 1967, No. 43815/67. Heading D1E. When a pick of welt has just been beaten up, all the wefts 5 extend from the selvedge and under a hook 9 to individual eyelets 4 on a weft selector 2. A selected weft 5' is then moved rearwardly and a hook 6 descends to engage it; the weft 5' then extends from the selvedge to the hook 9, and from there to the hook 6 and thus lies across the path of the weft inserter, which grips it and draws it into the shed. The hook 9 has a cutting edge on the side remote from the shed, so that the weft is cut as it wraps round the hook. When the pick has been completely inserted, the hook 6 rises to release the weft 5', which is then beaten up by the reed. The hook 9 rises and descends again to re-engage all the wefts, including the one that has just been inserted, the eyelet 3' having meanwhile retracted. A feeler 8 is held down by the selected weft, but rises to stop the loom if the weft breaks.
