Abstract

1,204,256. Tie racks. LAUGHTON & SONS Ltd. 24 Feb., 1969 [5 March, 1968], No. 10513/68. Headings A4B and A4U. A plastics tie rack comprises tie holders 10 having upper and lower hangers 13 angularly bent at 15 and integral with a pivot portion 14 which is swivelable in recesses 11 in top and bottom walls 29 of a rearwardly open hollow back 12 which is screwed to a supporting wall, or pin 19, extending from each upper hanger, being pivotally engaged in a socket 20 in a link 21 which is moved longitudinally to move the holders simultaneously between a projecting position normal to the back and a folded, stacked, position approximately parallel to the back. Each pivot portion includes a central section 27 of cruciform section, which abuts the walls 29 and the supporting wall, to maintain the holders in any desired position and has a segmental slot 31 which is aligned with a nib 32, restricting the engrance to the recess 11, for mounting of the holders in the back. The pins 19 of holders at the ends of the rack pass through the link and are engaged by retaining caps, and bosses 18 of these holders engage lugs projecting from the link to limit projection of the holders. In modifications, the nibs and grooves are omitted, the back, or the holders or both, being made of a flexible plastics for snap engagement. The holders may be coated with flock and only one hanger may be provided on each holder.
