Abstract

1,203,515. Resilient mounting. SMITHS INDUSTRIES Ltd. 21 Feb., 1969 [23 Jan., 1968], No. 3626/68. Heading F2S. [Also in Divisions F1 and H2] A resilient mounting for the driving motor 16 of a fan or blower comprises a support plate 17 which is attached to an end wall 10 of the casing 12 of the fan or blower by a number of resilient pads 20 which prevent the transmission of vibration to the casing. The pads 20 are of rubber of Shore Hardness of 35-45 degrees and are snapped into position in holes in the plate 17 so that the periphery of each hole fits into a central groove 25 of each pad. Spigots 27 riveted at 28 to the casing end wall 10 are then inserted into the bores 26 of the pads 20, and a spring clip 31 is snapped over each spigot end so that its lugs 33 engage behind the spigot end. The motor is secured to the plate 17 by a pair of bolts 18.
