Abstract

1,202,974. Bucket elevators. HAARLEMSCHE MACHINEFABRIEK VOOR HEEN GEB N.V. FIGEE. 3 May, 1968 [3 May, 1967], No. 21130/68. Heading E1F. The lower reversing wheel 4 of a bucket elevator is provided with digger means 10 for both excavating material from a bulk source and subsequently delivering such material into the buckets 1 of the elevator as the buckets are carried by endless elements 2 about the wheel. The digger means 10 preferably comprise cutter blades 11 secured between aligned pairs of arms 12 extending radially of supports 8 secured to the ends of the wheel 4. The distance between the cutter blades is equal to the pitch of the buckets and the contours of the blade correspond to the leading edges of the buckets so that each of the blades can form a contiguous extension with an associated bucket during part of the travel of the bucket about the wheel.
