Abstract

1,202,942. Valves. G. L. REXROTH G.m.b.H. 31 Oct., 1967 [5 Nov., 1966], No. 49368/67. Heading F2V. A landed spool 2 of a valve 1 is biased towards the left, as seen in the drawing, by a spring 5 and is movable in the opposite direction by the action of either an electromagnet 18 or a manual operator 15, either form of actuation being through a spool end-engaging ram 9. Upon actuation of the electromagnet, a further ram 19, displaceable by the magnet armature, engages the ram 9 and hence moves the spool to the right, de-energization of the magnet resulting in spring 5 moving the spool to the position shown. To effect manual operation, independently of electromagnetic operation, a closure cap 17 is removed and operator 15 depressed against the bias of a spring 16, such movement of the operator resulting in cam surfaces 11, provided one on each arm of an operator forked extension 10, engaging a pin 10 extending through the ram 9. Release of the operator 15 results in springs 5 and 16 moving the spool and operator respectively to the position shown. In an alternative embodiment, not shown, a second and similar manual operator 15 is provided at the other end of the spool in place of spring 5.
