Abstract

1,202,316. Cleaning walls, windows &c. E. CARRARO. 11 April, 1968 [15 April, 1967], No. 17573/68. Heading A4F. A machine for cleaning and polishing vertical surfaces particularly of walls and windows, comprises, within a hood 3 having a skirt 7 of felt and brush filaments adapted to fit against a surface to be cleaned, rotary brushes 13 driven by an electric motor 14 (not shown), a sprayer 27 and a supply reservoir 45 (Fig. 4, not shown) for cleaning liquid, and a suction fan 20 for withdrawing used cleaning liquid in an air stream from the surface being cleaned through two ducts 22 each containing a strainer 24 for breaking up liquid drops adjacent an electric heater 25 for vapourizing liquid, the vapourized liquid being discharged with the air stream through an opening 21 in the hood 3. The sprayer 27 is operated by compressed air supplied by a blower 29 driven by the electric motor, the compressed air supply being controllable by the operator by applying a finger to close an outlet 33 (Fig. 1, not shown) of a duct 32 (Fig. 2, not shown) branching from the duct supplying compressed air from the blower 29 to the sprayer 27.
