Abstract
1,202,251. Programme switches. GROUZET. 13 Nov., 1967 [14 Nov., 1966], No. 51453/67. Heading H1N. [Also in Division H2] A cam-actuated programmer comprises fixed precious metal contacts 3 mounted on laminµ 2 which in turn extend through a wall of insulating case 1 and are secured therein by means of pairs of facing cut-out tongues (2a), (2b) (Fig. 9, not shown), and mobile contacts 5 on opposite sides of lamina 4 extending through another wall and secured by tongues (4a), (4b) (Fig. 10, not shown), the protruding ends of the laminµ functioning as male connectors. As shown the end of lamina 4 is folded back to double its thickness where it protrudes, the end 4c aiding heat dissipation. Plastics finger 6 on lamina 4 co-operates with the cam to move the mobile contacts 5, between fixed contacts 3. The wall apertures for the laminµ are T-shaped in section (Fig. 11, not shown) and the leg of the T is deeper towards the outside wall to accommodate one of the pair of tongues which is made sufficiently long to be resilient and has been compressed when the lamina has been passed through the wall. The casing wall may be formed into compartments 1c, 1d around the male connectors to separate the female connectors when in place and increase the leakage path. The male connectors may have holes for bolting female connectors. The fixed or mobile contacts may be multiple bridged contacts (Figs. 6, 8, not shown). The casing 1 may have feet 1a, 1b for mounting in the framework of the programmer, and these may have different shapes for correct mounting.
